Building high quality connections (HCQs), or positive, mutually-beneficial, and long-term professional relationships in our careers is a journey. It shouldn’t just be a quick fix to a personal problem, in other words, something we “should” do to get an interview, get hired or land a job.

There are many kinds of career relationships that play important roles, regardless of where we are in our careers, in a part-time after school job, just starting out in an entry level full-time role, growing into the next level within an organization, making a job or industry change, or becoming or looking to excel as a people leader.

That’s why I offer learning experiences like training workshops, coaching, and and learning design for both Individuals and Teams within Organizations.

High Quality Career Connection Journey

Here’s my point of view on how High Quality Connections (HCQs) at work come into play at every stage of the career journey for Individuals and Organizations. How are you strengthening this human connection thread in your workforce, in client relationships, with your partners, investors, and stakeholders, and your company’s community? I’d like to help – bring a KNOCK connection workshop to your team!

Individuals benefit from developing career development communications skills, whether you’re looking to craft a customized cover letter that highlights your value for a specific role and company, you’re looking to connect with professionals, leaders or mentors who might offer advice, having overcome a similar hurdle in the past, or you’re looking to build deeper connections internally at your company, or with customers, to achieve your team’s goals and maximize your value and impact.

Teams and Organizations benefit from helping prospective talent, new hires in onboarding programs, tenured employees, and emerging and developing leaders gain the skills to deepen human connection at work. Building High Quality Connections (HCQs) at work reduce employee isolation and feelings of disconnection, which impact their health and wellbeing, their job satisfaction, productivity, and loyalty. When employees and teams feel more connected, they’ll maximize collaboration to minimize duplicate work across the organization, boosting productivity and efficiency, while boosting the meaningfulness of their work. They’ll have more confidence and feel empowered to reach out, stand out, ask for help, and drive their career. And, as a result, companies and organizations will have a more tightly-knit and supportive community and culture, leading to higher employee retention and satisfaction (although I prefer the term ’employee happiness), alignment with values and fulfillment of purpose. This leads to customer retention, loyalty, and satisfaction, and improved business performance overall.
