Making a Career Change? Help Shape a New Online Course

Whether you’re looking to move companies, jobs, or roles, this new online course is for you

While we’re still in the midst of The Great Resignation, or The Great Reshuffle, many professionals are rethinking what’s important in life and in work. Or, perhaps you already had a career or job change on your mind and you’re now ready to take that leap. Any job or career change is a big leap! You may find yourself looking for a supportive community, unsure of where to turn for guidance and advice, in need of resume review, or a little boost of confidence as you make this change. I’m here to help!

As a career educator, I design and develop career development learning experiences, like The Knock Method, to help you design and build your meaningful career. My hope it that you find work that makes you happy, inspires you to get up in the morning to make a difference, and to put your skill sets to good use in a way that matters to you. That sounds wonderful and all, but sometimes we need a little help to figure out how to get from here to there.

I’m excited to be creating a new online course for you and other career changers! It will be designed and delivered on a new online learning platform called Maven, dedicated to cohort-based classes (CBC’s), or in other words, group-based learning courses. While you can take online courses on your own and watch prerecorded videos on your own time, I believe the power of community and connection arises in cohort-based classes because you and your fellow classmates will get to grow with each other and learn from each other, while building your professional network of high quality connections (HQC’s). 

Pricing: This course will cost between $500-$1000, the equivalent of $150/hr of career coaching for 6 hours, or $3 coffees every day for 8 months, whichever way you want to look at it! (Just kidding, don’t give up your coffee!) But, you get the added benefit of learning from, and connecting with your cohort during the course and beyond. Based on feedback so far, this investment will include real-world stories and proven strategies on how to connect with new people in your career sphere, guest speakers on group-requested topics like recruiting/interview best practices from HR leaders, workshop time to prepare an outreach message to someone new and get ready for an informational interview, peer collaboration and growing your network through thoughtful introductions made by your classmates and instructor, tools to take with you and use throughout your career, and potentially a custom match for a mentor or informational interview based on your specific career goals.

This is where you come in. This online course will be about creating a connection strategy for career changers – anyone looking to move up, out, over, or to a new field altogether in their jobs and careers. If you’re in the midst of a career change, or recently made one, would you take my quick 10-question research survey to help shape this online course? Your input will help me develop a meaningful and impactful cohort-based live online course on Maven, a new group online learning platform, and you’ll get first access to join the first cohort later this year!   • Actually Meet Relevant Contacts for Your Next Career Move – Make at least one new high quality career connection, using the strategies we’ll explore in the course, that will help you make a meaningful career change
  • Build Your Network Together, in a Supportive Environment – Benefit from feedback, support, and career contact introductions from other cohort participants 
  • Get Extra Support – The course may include free coaching time, office hours, free tips/tools to take with you along your career journey, and guest speakers (share your picks in the survey!)
