It’s here! The Opportunities Knock career development website is brand spankin’ new and it’s here to help individuals and organization looking to build meaningful careers. Ever since I started hosting workshops featuring the 5-step methodology for building high quality career relationships, The Knock Method, that became the name that my community knew and recognized. And, even when my bestselling book, KNOCK: How to Open Doors and Build Career Relationships, was published, (and still today), peopled called it “The Knock Method”.
I’m honored that this name and brand continues to come to mind for job search tips, leadership development, networking strategies, and confidence boosting resources for career growers (professionals taking their careers to the next level), career builders (students and entrepreneurs), and career changers. However, my business has grown beyond one methodology and book! It’s time this community got to know my official business name, Opportunities Knock, which represents the open doors and new opportunities that arise when we “knock” thoughtfully – or connect intentionally as we build meaningful, high quality professional relationships.
Plus, I’m pursuing my graduate certificate in Learning Design and Technology, which has helped me develop a new set of skills to continue to build and design impactful and sticky learning and training programs and curricula for career, leadership, and talent development – for individuals and organizations.
My company, Opportunities Knock, offers more comprehensive resources for individuals:
- coaching
- online courses
- KNOCK, the book!
and organizations
- learning and curriculum design
- leadership development training
- workshops and speaking alongside KNOCK, the book
looking to build meaningful careers.
You’ll notice the web address changed from theknockmethod.com > buildmeaningfulcareers.com. (I only deliberated on the web address for approximately 2,000 hours…just kidding, but A LOT of thought and informal focus group input went into this BIG decision). I hope it speaks to you and continues to serve you as you build your meaningful career, or seek to support the meaningful careers of those you lead, manage, and work with.

How Building a Website Supports Career Growth
Building a new website is no easy feat! I partnered with a super talented developer who helped honor my website design preferences, and the fact that I’m more hands-on than many business owners and like to make my own updates as my business grows. In fact, you can read about web development and how I feel it’s the most valuable career building skill I’ve learned outside of my job description. I love updating my blog (like I’m doing right now) to keep my community up-to-date on news, share ideas, tips, and career growing strategies. And, I love that feeling when I hit “publish” and it’s live! I love selecting imagery that represents my brand and the ideas I’m hoping to convey, as well as the impact I’m looking to make. And, I love looking at the analytics side to learn about how people are discovering my business and book, and taking note of the top visited pages so I can provide even more valuable career development resources that serve those who need it.
